Vintage 1962 bright teal studio pottery bowl signed and dated by Sid Felsen at the bottom. Each side of the art bowl has a unique decorative pattern made up of small circles carved or stamped into the clay. A beautiful shiny glaze runs from dark blue to bright teal throughout the piece. Four cork feet around the base protect the bottom from wear.
Sidney Felsen helped start the renowned Gemini G.E.L. artists' workshop in Los Angeles in 1966, which facilitated collaborations with Robert Rauschenberg, Roy Lichtenstein, Ed Ruscha and many other historically important artists. The shop produced limited editions of artists' work in all printmaking processes and a wide variety of sculptural materials.
