1973 “Metamorphose: Violet” Silkscreen by Judy Granitz


Vintage square framed 1973 silkscreen on paper "Metamorphose: Violet" by Judy Granitz. The print is a beautifully layered geometric form with dimension or optical illusion created by varying ink opacity. The image is comprised of two diamond shapes that meet in the center. The outermost layers of the shape are the most transparent, with a reddish-purple ink built up to an opaque dark center. The title is penciled in the lower left of the print. Artist signature, date and edition 35/65 is on the lower right. Displayed floating behind glass in aluminum frame.

Back of the frame has a paper label from 1981 inventorying the work and naming the source as Newport Harbor Art Museum.

Condition: In excellent condition. Minimal discoloration or wear to print. Some small scratches on glass and frame.
